get elfed. {& a giveaway}

i love acts of kindness – random, planned, whatev – and give discovered Kindness Canada a website that encourages kindness in everything that you do. it gives you a big list of suggestions on how you can be kinder every day, and you can add your own tips and stories. i’ve lost a lot of time reading this website and smiling.

it’s odd but i find the closer we get to christmas the less kind people become. we get stressed about having enough money to buy presents, cooking dinners, hosting family, etc. the most wonderful time of the year is actually all about angry people in parking lots.

another great company trying to help change this grumpiness is Edo Japan. they are making Calgarians’ holiday season Simply Better by sending several hard working edo elves out in to the community to spread holiday cheer with good deeds from today until December 21.

elves will be seen throughout the city performing good deeds, surprising Calgarians by helping them carry their heavy bags, scrape off icy cars or almost anything to make someone’s day a little brighter. in hopes of spreading the spirit of the season the elves will be encouraging others to surprise someone they love.

to find out where the elves will be and who they will be surprising, follow them on Twitter at @edo_japan and #EdoElf and on Facebook.

showing even more kindness, Edo Japan is also helping the calgary food bank to provide food and resources to those in need. for every $25 gift card sold, Edo Japan will donate $5 to a local food bank, in hopes of raising more than $15,000.

like a good little elf, i get to spread some cheer and gift one reader with a $25 Edo Japan gift card.
