i have a travel hangover. i just want to go back to sleep…and wake up in seattle. our whirlwind adventure is sadly over, but i know i’ll be talking about it for a long while, and thankfully have a lot of shopping goodies to remind me of it all. i even made it to target – god bless target – and smuggled home a new door mat in my duffle bag carry on…along with two new pairs of shoes, a dress, a jump suit, and excedrin tension headache for other shopping stops. all the important things. we also need nordstrom rack here. please baby.
i’ll seattle talk in a post of its own. i have a concert to come down from, and a tummy full of amazing food to digest. if you follow me on snapchat you’ve seen a ton of it, but rainbow crosswalks and adorable band members need their own explaining.
in other important news, it’s blue jays home opener tonight. baseball season is here again, my friends and sister took dad to their opening series in tampa. i can’t wait to plan a trip to sit in the ball park and eat peanuts and cheer on the jays. tonight, i’ll be surrounded by fellow ontario transplants at the bar as we watch them kick off the home season at the ‘dome.
now that i’m back to real life – cries – it’s time to get much more serious about my calgary marathon training schedule. the distances pick up, and i’m really not sure right now how i’m going to complete my first 10k. nervous is an understatement, but i have a really strong supporter and cheerleader behind me: dad. he’s flying out to race with me, his first ever, and i am so excited to do this with him. he’s a power walker, so we’ll be on our own for the 10k, but we decided to walk the 5k together. we’ll be supporting team diabetes in the process, because it’s dad’s sidekick and a cause close to our family. if you want to read more about us and donate, i’d love you to. you can do that here. if for no other reason, you should click the link to see adorable photos of me and daddy-o when i was a toddler.
